9 Best Shopify Affiliate Apps For Boosting Sales (2022)

Written by Cody

Updated: Sep 20, 2022

Affiliate marketing is a fantastic way to build relationships with influencers and have them promote your products in exchange for a commission.

Through this type of marketing, you can leverage someone else’s following and thus don’t need to spend a ton of money on things like Amazon PPC software, Facebook ads, TikTok ads, etc.

That being said, to get started, you’re going to need the right tools. Luckily, there are a ton of great Shopify affiliate marketing apps out there that can help make your job a lot easier.

In this article, we’ll take a look at some of the best ones. So whether you’re just getting started or you’re looking for something new, read on for the top Shopify affiliate apps!

What Are The Best Shopify Affiliate Apps?

Shopify is a great e-commerce platform with tons of apps that allow it to extend its functionality. There are many ways to make money with Shopify and having the right affiliate app in place can certainly an option.

Whether you’re dropshipping or running an in-house e-commerce store you should have an affiliate program in place to take advantage of high-value, low-cost conversions.

These are in my opinion, the best Shopify affiliate apps available in 2022.

1. Refersion

Overview

Refersion is an advanced affiliate marketing tool that allows you to quickly find and recruit affiliates, automate payment processing tasks, and discover which of them are bringing in the most cash to your company.

One of the main features of Refersion is the E-Commerce Affiliate Discovery; it almost completely automates the process of finding qualified affiliates, allowing you to recruit candidates within minutes.

Refersion also features affiliate application tracking tools, which can help you track each one on a unified platform.

The “Affiliate Leaderboards” is a fairly innovative feature that serves the purpose of providing you with a detailed list of your top-earning affiliates. What makes it a bit more exciting is that you can show this list to your affiliates; show appreciation to top-ranked affiliates and encourage low-ranked ones to try harder and climb the ladder.

In terms of reporting tools, Refersion sports custom reporting solutions, including monthly offer updates, payment reports, customer updates, and pretty much all the details regarding new and current affiliates.

A range of other exciting features is included in all Refersion subscriptions, including tiered commission rates, a variety of commission structures, a streamlined Affiliate Experience dashboard, as well as access to Refersion’s Developer APIs.

Key Features

  • A comprehensive commissioning dashboard
  • Affiliate application reviewing
  • Integrates with over 2,000 e-commerce apps
  • Affiliate recruiting tools
  • Affiliate Discovery panel
  • Automated payment processing
  • Custom reports
  • Affiliate Leaderboards

Pricing

Refersion’s Professional subscription package comes at $99 per month. Its Enterprise and Enterprise Plus subscription plans are custom; contact Refersion’s sales department to create a plan that best caters to your needs.

What I Like / Dislike About Refersion

Nearly every aspect of Refersion is phenomenal. If you need more affiliates, a way to manage existing ones, bolster their morale, and automate payments, this is the tool you should use.

There are no limitations to how many affiliates you can recruit and manage on this platform, regardless of which subscription plan you choose. Furthermore, its Affiliate Marketplace is a game-changer for rapidly growing Shopify brands that want to keep the wheels turning as they scale.

The only drawback worth mentioning is the pricey subscription. The “basic” plan is the Professional package, which costs at least several times more than average. I believe it’s well worth the money, though.

Who Is This For?

Refersion is pretty great for everyone, but I would mainly recommend it to medium and large-size Shopify brands. Its subscription cost is pricey, but the benefits it offers are too great to miss for established e-commerce stores and Shopify merchants.

2. Referral Candy

Overview

Referral Candy is a popular affiliate marketing and management app equipped with simple but highly effective tools and functions.

Its strongest selling point is the streamlined setup. All you need to do is make an account and register to the platform, and you’re set to use it immediately. As soon as you do so, you’ll be able to enter the free trial program, which will allow you to try its features before deciding to upgrade to a paid plan.

It integrates with Shopify, WooCommerce, and other popular platforms, although the list is pretty short.

In terms of affiliate performance tracking, Referral Candy’s fresh Google Analytics integration enables its users to seamlessly keep tabs on how much their affiliates are contributing. With this feature, you can have a clear overview of your total referral traffic from your GA dashboard.

Referral Candy also offers numerous newsletter tools, which can help you embed your referral links and share them with your referrals, friends, and family to spread the word about your Shopify brand quickly. Integration with Mailchimp can do an excellent job with your future newsletter campaigns.

Key Features

  • Customizable referral programs
  • Integrates with Shopify, WooCommerce, Magneto, and dozens of other popular e-commerce platforms
  • Leverages Google Analytics to deliver powerful insights into affiliate performance
  • Newsletter tools

Pricing

Subscription to Referral Candy costs $39 per month. A free trial version is available.

What I Like / Dislike About Referral Candy

The simplicity and affordability of Referral Candy are the two things I liked about it the most. From easy setup to simple integrations with tools and apps that most Shopify merchants will use daily, it’s great that you don’t have to pay a fortune to leverage these benefits to empower your brand.

At the same time, these can be perceived as pitfalls for more established e-commerce companies. While Referral Candy is great at what it does, its features aren’t as strong and versatile in comparison to pricier alternatives.

Who Is This For?

Referral Candy is my top recommendation for small Shopify brands and emerging e-commerce merchants. If you don’t have the budget to afford more advanced affiliate management/recruiting solutions, this is one of the best apps you can get.

3. UpPromote

Overview

“Superior Scalability” would be the words that I’d use to describe UpPromote. It’s a well-rounded tool equipped with features you can use to begin, grow, and scale e-commerce brands of any size.

It’s a feature-packed platform that offers both coupon and link tracking capabilities, a vast Affiliate Marketplace program, and the option to transform loyal customers into affiliates.

UpPromote features a tool that allows you to create custom affiliate offers that you can place on its Affiliate Marketplace, your own website, or use as an e-mail template whenever you are conversing with individual potential recruits.

In terms of affiliate management, this platform makes access to marketing resources easy while streamlining the way your affiliates represent your Shopify store. Many of its features are fully customizable, from reports, over white-label email templates, to affiliate accounts and registration pages.

Advanced subscriptions extend the usability of the aforementioned features across multiple stores, and offer automated coupon generation, as well as advanced product analytics.

Key Features

  • Affiliate coupon and link tracking
  • Automated e-mail templates
  • Affiliate Marketplace listing
  • Customizable affiliate links
  • Automated coupon generation
  • Product analytics
  • Multi-store support

Pricing

UpPromote offers three subscription packages, including Growth at $21.99 per month; Professional at $69.99 per month, and Enterprise at $139.99 per month. A free version is also available for indefinite use.

What I Like / Dislike About UpPromote

I love that UpPromote is more than an affiliate management/recruitment app. Aside from enabling you to quickly track new prospects and integrate them into custom programs, it also sports a variety of tools that can help you choose the best products for your affiliates to promote.

Each subscription plan has something for every budget. I wouldn’t dub UpPromote’s pricing as “flexible”, as you essentially get what you pay for. The basic “Growth” package is pretty great for new brands, but it’s barely better than the free version. The “Professional” subscription is much stronger but costs twice as much.

I’m not too convinced about the “Enterprise” package, because it mainly eliminates the limitations present in lower subscriptions and introduces Partial.ly integration while costing more than five times than “Growth” and twice as much as the “Professional” subscription.

Who Is This For?

UpPromote is well suited for Shopify merchants and companies of all sizes. The bulk of its features is better for small and medium size e-commerce stores while larger firms have a variety of custom options in the “Enterprise” package.

4. Goaffpro

Overview

GoaffPro is easily one of the best Shopify affiliate apps for brands and merchants on a tight budget. What sets it apart from similarly-priced alternatives is that you can register and manage an unlimited number of affiliates, regardless of how much revenue you are making, even with its free version.

The “Premium” version is very affordable and provides access to the fully branded Affiliate Portal while expanding the app with automatic invoices, the bulk affiliate messaging function, an ability to embed your affiliate store to your website, and more.

Some of the most notable features of GoaffPro include the fully automated referral link generator, automatic PayPal payouts, and a streamlined Site Stripe function that allows you to rapidly distribute your referral links.

In terms of analytics, GoaffPro allows you to leverage its artificial intelligence technology to gain valuable insights into the performance of your affiliates. Furthermore, the entirety of data obtained and processed by the AI can be accessed by your in-house team and your affiliates.

Key Features

  • Cutting-edge affiliate tracking
  • Referral link generator
  • Automated PayPal payment processing
  • Custom Branded Affiliate site
  • AI-powered analytics accessible by both merchants and their affiliates
  • Multi-level affiliate marketing campaigns

Pricing

GoaffPro’s Hobby package can be used for free indefinitely. The Premium subscription costs $24 per month while the Enterprise plan is custom.

What I Like / Dislike About Goaffpro

This is one of the rare cases where an app’s drawbacks shouldn’t matter. As a free app, the “Hobby” version of GoaffPro can get your Shopify brand on its feet; the cheap “Premium” version makes it one of the best Shopify affiliate apps on the market while the “Enterprise” package provides the much-needed scalability.

If there’s one downside to GoaffPro, it’s the fact that some of the features in paid subscription packages aren’t exactly new or innovative. Most Shopify brands have already covered the grounds of invoices, membership fees, and sign-up landing pages, but these tools are included in the price anyway.

Who Is This For?

I recommend GoaffPro to all Shopify merchants searching for a comprehensive affiliate tracking & management solution. Even though it’s one of the cheapest apps on the list, its versatility is exemplary.

5. Social Snowball

Overview

Social Snowball is precisely what its name implies – an app engineered to help e-commerce brands and merchants “snowball” to success.

It offers three unique methods of acquiring affiliates. Customers brought to your shop by your affiliates become affiliates themselves, receiving discount codes and tracking links that can be further distributed among new customers. Furthermore, referred customers also have an opportunity to become your affiliates; in combination with the previous affiliate acquisition mode, this creates a true “snowball” and ensures rapid brand expansion.

Social Snowball is a premium e-commerce affiliate management app designed to automate numerous affiliate-related processes. From onboarding customers referred by existing affiliates, over providing access to all affiliates with unified interfaces, to automating bulk payment processing, this platform can do it all.

What sets Social Snowball apart from contemporary Shopify affiliate apps is its unrivaled customizability. You can fine-tune nearly all of its features, including but not limited to tracking links, and graphics contained in your affiliate programs, and even translating any text to a variety of languages to ensure your message reaches broader audiences.

Key Features

  • Supports an unlimited number of affiliates
  • Three affiliate acquisition modes
  • A streamlined affiliate management dashboard
  • Multiple payout processing methods
  • Customizable “Thank You” page

Pricing

Social Snowball offers two subscription packages, including Snow Day at $99 per month, and Blizzard at $499 per month. A custom plan for Enterprises is also available, contact Social Snowball’s sales department to negotiate your price.

What I Like / Dislike About Social Snowball

Not many Shopify affiliate apps can help an e-commerce brand spiral out of control as rapidly as Social Snowball. By bringing customers into the fold as affiliates while allowing you to keep tabs on the ever-growing list of partners, the aggressive growth it offers is quite controllable.

The only con of using Social Snowball is a hefty monthly price tag. Its lowest subscription option is much more expensive than average, despite its remarkable value.

Who Is This For?

Social Snowball’s scalability is outstanding. The more you use this app, the more efficient it becomes, so I would recommend it to all Shopify brand owners. Its priciness may dissuade emerging e-commerce merchants from using it, but I would recommend investing in this innovative product anyway.

6. LeadDyno

Overview

LeadDyno is a comprehensive affiliate marketing platform, enabling its users to launch campaigns and automate affiliate and lead acquisition and conversion processes, configure custom commissions, and set up unique domains for their affiliates to work on.

It’s an innovative app that can help you engage and inspire both potential and actual affiliates, track & analyze the performance of each affiliate campaign (and all of its elements), and organize rewards for your top earners through the platform’s proprietary payment software.

What makes LeadDyno different from your average Shopify affiliate app is that it keeps visitor data stored for more than a year in its database. This combined with robust analytic tools enables you to adapt your affiliate campaigns accurately.

Streamlined integrations enable you to connect all relevant e-commerce apps on a singular platform while LeadDyno’s affiliate import capabilities allow you to bring existing affiliate lists onto the platform for easy access and management.

Key Features

  • Unlimited affiliates
  • Unlimited custom commission configurations
  • Affiliate list import
  • Custom domains
  • Stores visitor data for analytics
  • Integrates with over 25 e-commerce apps
  • Customizable affiliate portal

Pricing

LeadDyno offers four subscription packages, including Starter at $49 per month; Plus at $129 per month; Pro at $349 per month, and Premium at $749 per month.

What I Like / Dislike About LeadDyno

Superb analytics, streamlined affiliate management, and one-click affiliate campaigns are some of the things that I liked the most about LeadDyno. I also love the ability to utilize custom domains to spice up your campaigns, although this feature isn’t available in cheaper subscription plans.

Aside from the fact that LeadDyno is among the most expensive Shopify affiliate SaaS, I should mention that Starter and Plus subscriptions have one large flaw – LeadDyno’s branding will be included on your affiliate sites. Although this isn’t necessarily a bad thing for emerging brands, Shopify brands that are building a reputation may consider this as a drawback.

Who Is This For?

LeadDyno is best suited for medium-to-large e-commerce brands and established merchants. The platform offers a range of unique features and solutions, but it is fairly pricey to use.

7. Tapfiliate

Overview

Tapfiliate is an advanced referral and affiliate automation platform equipped with a variety of unique features geared toward streamlined affiliate management & onboarding, affiliate rewarding, and boosting link engagement.

Numerous customizable features are available for all users, including branded dashboards for all affiliates, creating branded links, custom payment methods, and sign-up fields.

This is one of the best online solutions for Shopify merchants that adhere to “quality over quantity” when it comes to their affiliates and ambassadors. Monthly, one-time, fixed, and mixed commissions are one of the key features of Tapfiliate, allowing you to bring the most influential social media creators and celebrities with virtually automated rewards.

Workflow automation is another key element of Tapfiliate, as you can quickly set milestones and rewards for your milestones to strive toward.

Key Features

  • Unique affiliate and referral links
  • Social media post builder
  • Four types of comssisions
  • Branded dashboards for affiliates
  • Unique sign-up fields
  • Custom payout methods
  • Integrates with 37 e-commerce apps and platforms

Pricing

Tapfiliate offers two subscription packages, including Essential at $89 per month, and Pro at $149 per month. A custom Enterprise plan is also available for larger Shopify brands. A 14-day free trial version is also available.

What I Like / Dislike About Tapfiliate

Nurturing your affiliates is what Tapfiliate is all about. This platform helps you keep your ambassadors, affiliates, and influencers under your banner motivated and inspired while managing their efforts is easier than ever.

The only negative about Tapfiliate is how expensive its subscriptions are. I’m pretty sure not many e-commerce merchants can afford to pay close to $1k a month for one Shopify app.

Who Is This For?

Organizing tasks and keeping your affiliates motivated is a breeze when they know what they can expect from a job well done. I recommend Tapfiliate to medium-to-large Shopify merchants and companies.

8. ShoutOut – MLM Affiliate Marketing

Overview

ShoutOut is a simple affiliate multi-level marketing app that supports unlimited affiliates, allows you to create unique referral links, coupons & QR codes, and brand the entirety of your affiliate content on a simple platform.

Automated reports, Pay-to-Join affiliate options, bulk affiliate commissions, customizable affiliate links, and performance-based commission rewards are some of its most notable features.

Additionally, with ShoutOut you can keep tabs on subscription renewals, create custom database fields, and white label affiliate domains with ease.

Key Features

  • Unlimited affiliates
  • Customizable affiliate and referral links
  • Unique coupons and QR codes
  • Affiliate dashboards
  • Track subscription renewals
  • Customizable database fields

Pricing

ShoutOut offers three subscription plans, including Essentials at $39 per month, Growth at $59 per month, and Pro at $79 per month. A free version is available for indefinite use.

What I Like / Dislike About MLM Affiliate Marketing

When it comes to cheap (and free) affiliate marketing apps, ShoutOut is one of the finest on the market. Even its most expensive subscription is nearly ten times cheaper than Tapfiliate’s priciest option.

There are no drawbacks to ShoutOut’s MLM Affiliate Marketing app, as you can use it for free for as long as you want, although its features will be somewhat limited in this case.

Who Is This For?

ShouOut MLM Affiliate Marketing is one of the best Shopify affiliate apps for e-commerce brands on a cash-strapped budget.

9. Affiliatly

Overview

Affiliatly has streamlined affiliate tracking and management to the point that even the least tech-savvy person can use it efficiently.

It offers the most flexible subscription plans among the apps I’ve listed so far, and it’s one of the simplest apps when it comes to setup and operation.

With Affiliatly, you can upload custom branded banners, manage all of your affiliates individually, track the performance of your affiliate partners, and benefit from detailed analytic reports.

Key Features

  • User-friendly intuitive UI
  • Individual affiliate management tools
  • Affiliate and referral link tracking
  • Unified affiliate dashboard
  • Integrates with over a dozen e-commerce apps

Pricing

Affiliatly offers six pricing options, including Starter at $16 per month; Advanced at $24 per month; Professional at $39 per month; Pro 1000 at $59 per month; Pro 2500 at $79 per month, and Pro Unlimited at $129 per month.

What I Like / Dislike About Affiliatly

Affiliatly can be used to launch multi-tiered affiliate campaigns without paying a fortune in turn. Most of its features are automated and made easy for practically everyone to use. The only downside is that you’ll be limited to a certain number of supported affiliates depending on which plan you choose (excluding Pro Unlimited).

Who Is This For?

Affiliatly is a well-rounded Shopify affiliate app that can benefit e-commerce stores of all sizes. The only pre-requisite is that you can gauge how many affiliates you can acquire and manage at any given month.

Final Thoughts

While good affiliate tools can help you find more affiliates and manage them without wasting hours daily, the best Shopify affiliate apps are meant to automate the whole process and allow you to focus on more important tasks.

Consider your budget before making your choice, though, as you’ll find Shopify affiliate apps in the range between $30 and $700 per month (and possibly above).
