12 Best UGC Platforms for Brands in 2023: Try These Now

Written by Cody

Updated: Aug 1, 2024

For most people, user generated content is far more “legitimate” than any ad you place on their displays. It’s simple – people want to see real-life humans interacting with authentic products or services more than someone with a fake smile hyping up something that probably doesn’t work as advertised.

However, manually searching, creating, and moderating user generated content is a list of extremely tough chores. I’m here to help with some of the best UGC platforms you can find on the web.

What Are the Best UGC Platforms?

There are various platforms that offer UGC content creation services. Based on your budget and your UGC needs the best platform for you is one that meets those needs at a price you’re willing to pay. That being said, here is my list of the top 12 best UGC platforms in 2023.

1. Billo

Overview

Billo is a UGC platform that specializes in creating custom video content. It features a unique video creation tool that you can use to create video ads, how-to explainers, 360 clips, promotional video content, and pretty much anything related to pictures in motion. Although there are now AI video generators to help create this type of content, nothing really beats the personalized touch of a human connection.

From unique templates, themes, colors, icons, and fonts, it’s hard to say what Billo doesn’t allow you to use in your videos.

In comparison to Tint, Billo is much easier to use, although it was specifically designed for video creation. All you need to do is open the app, schedule the tasks you want to be performed, select your templates, and let the app do its magic.

Aside from powerful and eclectic integrations, Billo also offers users an option to delegate the video-making process to its professional creators.

Key Features

  • A comprehensive video creator tool
  • Supports video ads, testimonials, unboxing, how-to, 360, and app promo videos
  • Integrates with Facebook, Instagram, Amazon, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, and more
  • Custom videos made by Billo creators

Pricing

Billo charges per created video. Custom-made video ads cost $59 per video while premium-quality product videos cost $89 per video. For brands that need larger quantities of clips and videos, a custom plan is also available.

What I Like / Dislike About Billo

Billo is all about quality and value. If you’ve decided you no longer want to swim in the sea of bland UGC that some cheap AI has created by the tons, I’m pretty sure you’ll love Billo. Its custom videos are authentic from start to finish, and best of all, you get a say in what the end result should be like.

The obvious drawback is its expensiveness. Ad videos cost $59 while product videos cost $89 each, which is roughly the price you’d pay to outsource a decent-quality UGC software for a full month.

Who Is This For?

In my opinion, Billo is the best solution for people who value quality over quantity. Although it may be considered more expensive than average considering you’ll get charged for each video separately, it’s definitely worth every cent, as you’ll get authentic, unique videos to uplift your brand and improve social proof.

2. Tint

Overview

Tint is a comprehensive UGC platform that delivers custom-tailored solutions to each user. Whether you own a small brand that you want to build and grow or are a leader of an established e-commerce company seeking a scalable UGC solution, Tint has what you’re after.

Its main “product” that all of its users can benefit from is content “hyper-personalization.” Essentially, this platform leverages an abundance of integrations that help streamline UGC requests and acquisitions. Whether you want to pull content from Facebook or send bulk requests with Mailchimp, Tint is the way to go.

Another exciting thing that Tint can do for your brand is creating multiple channels to gather and distribute your user-generated content through.

Tint’s proprietary “Attention Score” is a metric that can change the way you observe and analyze the experience of your shoppers/clients. The Attention Score is immediately generated for every bit of UGC you want to use, allowing you to optimize the content before setting it out into the ether.

Tint’s super-scalability is one of the reasons why it’s considered one of the top UGC platforms on the current market. This software suite is powered by Filestack, an innovative file & API uploader that is the last letter in SFC (secure file handling) technology. Each byte you find, optimize, or use via Tint will be processed through this tech.

Key Features

  • Integrates with Mailchimp, Canva, Facebook Ads, Widen, HubSpot, and Hootsuite
  • Managed user-generated content services
  • Personalized visual content
  • AI & Behavioral Learning platform
  • UGC optimization
  • Attention score
  • Fliestack-powered scalability

Pricing

Tint’s pricing plans are custom. Contact their sales department or fill out the pricing request form to find out more details.

What I Like / Dislike About Tint

Tint features a sophisticated AI that will learn more about your target audiences as you continue to use it. Its robust integrations ensure its scalability only grows, which basically means that you’ll continue seeing not only consistent but improving results over time.

Its outstanding versatility shouldn’t be treated as a drawback, but Tint is just so much more than a UGC platform. It’s a publication tool, a marketing campaign launchpad, software for managing the legal rights of your UGC, and so on. It is not the easiest platform to use, and you will probably need some time to figure out its ever-expanding borders.

Who Is This For?

Brands, e-commerce merchants, social media celebrities, and companies searching for a comprehensive UGC tool that delivers hyper-personalized UGC at a scale should definitely consider Tint. It’s my first choice and subjectively the best UGC platform out there.

3. Vidovo

Vidodo is a rather new UGC platform. What separates it from the others is that it doesn’t actually work like most platforms do. In fact, Vidovo is a UGC marketing agency that leverages their large connection of UGC creators to find the perfect fit for your brand.

As a brand owner, all you need to do is fill out a few basic details about your product type, creator age ranges, and anything specific you want the creator to mention in their video.

That’s it! You don’t need to manually sift through 100s of creators to find one that fits your brand’s voice. The Vidovo staff work hard on the back end to find the perfect creator for you and I can tell from first-hand experience that they deliver on their promise.

Key Features

  • Vidovo staff work with you to find the perfect UGC creators
  • Simple, clean dashboard setup
  • Transparent tracking showing where the creator is in the video creation process
  • No hidden fees
  • Revision request feature

Pricing

Currently, Vidovo only has one price point. Since they’re still new, all videos are charged at a flat rate of $129 instead of their regular $249.

What I Like / Dislike About Vidovo

At first, I was a bit hesitant about the fact that I couldn’t manually choose the UGC creators myself. That’s the process I’m used to and have come to expect. However, after seeing the quality of videos created I have full confidence that the Vidovo team knows what they’re doing. On top of that, a Vidovo staff member did confirm the creators with me before proceeding with the order – which was great!

I like that the whole process is pretty hands-off. As a brand owner, I don’t have a lot of time, and being able to input a bit of information and then receive a high-quality video one week later is fantastic!

The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that there aren’t a whole lot of options for granularity. If you’re a brand that really needs a specific type of creator and wants to have a conversation with that creator before having them create a video, you can’t really do that yet (although it is in the works).

Who Is This For?

Vidovo is great for e-commerce brand owners who don’t have a lot of time to sift through a ton of content creators and are willing to put their confidence in a UGC marketing agency to take care of the video fulfillment process for them. Their price point is fair, their videos are about 30 seconds in length, and the quality is great!

4. Taggbox

Overview

Taggbox is your one-stop shop for creating UGC and immediately using it in your marketing campaigns. Its hybrid nature consists of tools to create and launch custom content across multiple channels, but it also features an array of digital displays, social ads, widgets, and more.

The Display suite features a variety of embeddable displays, up to 10 feeds, and 5 walls for you to embed your user-generated content. You can even upload private posts and engage up to 5 collaborators unless you’ve subscribed to the Enterprise plan.

The Taggbox Widget suite is your launchpad for email and hashtag campaigns, allowing you to kickstart your user-generated content and convert it into pure ROI in the bat of an eye.

Each package offers a myriad of benefits, and it’s hard to say which one’s the best. I was particularly amazed by the Taggshop and subjectively consider it to a top user generated content platform of today.

Key Features

  • Built-in content rights
  • Embeddable content on emails and web pages
  • User-generated content analytics
  • Taggshop with up to 20 feeds, smart product galleries, auto-sync products, and more
  • Content launchpad
  • UGC galleries and widgets
  • Hashtag campaigns
  • On-site Instagram shop

Pricing

Taggbox offers several subscription packages, each with several individual subscription plans. Display UGC subscriptions include Basic at $249 per month, and Pro at $599 per month. Taggbox Widget plans encompass Lite at $24 per month; Basic at $39 per month, and Pro at $99 per month. Taggshop and UGC Suite are custom subscription plans.

What I Like / Dislike About Taggbox

One of the best things about Taggbox is its flexible subscriptions. You can freely choose between UGC Display, Widget, Taggshop, and Suite options, or combine them to fit your budget.

The Display package covers customer engagement, conversion, and UGC-related signage; the Widget plan comprises UGC gallery formation & publication, hashtag campaigns, as well as a variety of social media-oriented user-generated content creation while the Taggshop is there to optimize and automate your sales workflow and build CR.

The obvious drawback is that you’ll have quite a few subscriptions billed at the end of the month if you want to use all of its features, all of which are quite expensive individually.

Who Is This For?

Taggbox can be a game-changer for businesses that can afford it. It’s a perfect solution for brands that are searching for a comprehensive UGC platform capable of publishing and commercializing user-generated content, as opposed to simply creating it.

5. Yotpo

Overview

If you’ve Googled SMS marketing platform, loyalty, subscription, referral, or review apps, the chances are that you’ve stumbled onto Yotpo, as it does it all. It’s one of the most versatile platforms available on the market, but reviewing it in its entirety would take forever, so I’ll stick to its UGC elements.

With the Visual UGC suite, you can curate unlimited galleries from social media posts, hashtags, and whichever user-generated content you’ve obtained yourself. With the Growth plan, you can even curate pictures from your reviews.

You will get to choose between several gallery templates when creating them, and even embed the add-to-curt button as a direct call to action near your content.

More advanced plans further expand the list of benefits and advantages you can reap, including the ability to curate UGC videos, analyze your galleries, or leverage Yotpo’s AI to tag content with the most relevant titles and hashtags.

Key Features

  • Unlimited embeddable UGC galleries
  • Unlimited product galleries and albums
  • Several gallery layouts
  • Add-to-cart function
  • AI-assisted tagging
  • Product grouping

Pricing

Yotpo’s Visual UGC suite costs $9 per month. There are two additional custom plans including Premium and Enterprise, both of which you can test by requesting a demo. A free version is also available with limited features.

What I Like / Dislike About Yotpo

I like the fact that Yotpo can transform an aspiring e-commerce brand into a household name, the same way it can convert a beginner merchant into a thriving business.

If you don’t have too many followers, you can generate content from reviews; if you don’t have too many reviews, you can create UGC from videos. If you don’t have videos, you can curate entire galleries from hashtags. Just like Tint, the more you use this platform, the better it performs.

There are no major drawbacks to using Yotpo, as even the free version is pretty great. The only thing I didn’t like is that only Premium users get to use AI-assisted tagging and curate UGC from videos.

Who Is This For?

Yotpo is ideal for brands and merchants that have already started working on their social media presence. The larger your Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter follower groups are, the more effective Yotpo’s Visual UGC suite is. Even if you’ve just started from scratch, this platform can help you find the user-generated content you need to start making a name for your brand.

6. Cohley

Overview

Cohley is a content generation platform that offers premium UGC solutions to its clients while serving as a digital job board for some of the most talented content creators out there.

In short, you can find, manage, and collaborate with professionals via Cohley to create custom, authentic content from scratch. You can use its UGC generation services to procure and curate user-generated content from videos, photos, and product reviews too, or deploy a combination of the two.

Its UGC generation segment utilizes sophisticated AI to create fully personalized user-generated content and distribute it across all of your channels. Furthermore, you’ll also benefit from inbuilt usage rights, ensuring no one else can use or market your UGC without your permission.

The Creator Management tab is a very convenient feature that helps you connect with talented content creators; you will receive period requests, or you can browse through the selection and cherry-pick the candidates that you want to work with.

Key Features

  • Create videos, photos, and review-based UGC
  • Integrates with Klaviyo
  • Digital content creation
  • Built-in usage rights
  • Creator collaboration
  • Creator management

Pricing

Cohley uses a custom pricing model. Book a consultation with their team to negotiate your price.

What I Like / Dislike About Cohley

Cohley has thoroughly streamlined the way brand owners collaborate with content creators. Having already covered the negotiations and terms of service with all creators that use this platform, you can freely approach any content creator and chat with them as you would on any social media channels.

I didn’t find any major flaws in using Cohley’s solutions other than the fact that its pricing is different for everyone.

Who Is This For?

Cohley is ideal for brands of all sizes but, in my opinion, it may benefit brands and businesses that already have a decent social media following or an established online reputation.

7. Pixlee TurnTo

Overview

Pixlee TurnTo is a gigantic platform comprised of UGC, reviews, and Influencer marketing tools. It allows you to collect, curate, publish, and analyze user-generated content; acquire ratings, reviews, community questions & answers, and checkout comments; discover, manage, and gauge the performance of engaged influencers, and more.

Focusing on its UGC segment, Pixlee TurnTo features a variety of tools that you can use to collect user-generated content, sort it in custom libraries, and engage your customers with exciting call-to-action posts.

This platform allows its users to moderate and curate the entirety of their UGC, either manually or automatically. You can even leverage its AI-assisted tagging to identify and tag your products within collected UGC.

Just like most top-tier UGC platforms, Pixlee TurnTo features a suite of tools dedicated to managing permissions on shareable content.

Key Features

  • Gathers user-generated photos and videos
  • Automatic hashtag UGC search
  • Editable user-generated content
  • UGC auto-sort
  • AI-assisted tagging
  • Manage shareable content permissions
  • Pixlee Publish Center
  • Patented Dynamic Display technology

Pricing

Pixlee TurnTo offers custom pricing plans. You can request a free demo to see how this platform works.

What I Like / Dislike About Pixlee TurnTo

Pixlee ensured that you’ll never have to outsource a single UGC tool again. With this platform, you can acquire, manage, moderate, publish, and monetize your products, as well as propel your devoted fans and followers to share their user-generated content with you.

The only drawback of Pixlee TurnTo is that it’s such an enormous platform that you’ll need a bit of time to get accustomed to all of its features.

Who Is This For?

Pixlee TurnTo is a highly scalable platform that grows as your brand grows. It’s ideal for medium to large-size companies with a relatively famous name, but it can help emerging e-commerce merchants and brand owners get on their feed in record time just the same.

8. Bazaarvoice

Overview

Bazaarvoice is a premier shopper engagement platform that sports an array of features, including UGC collection, social publishing management, Q&A management, rating & review requests, personalized content generator, and a host of analytic tools.

Its main UGC-related features are product sampling and the exquisite ReviewSource features. With the former, you can inspire your clients and customers to sample your products/services and receive authentic user-generated content as a “thank you”.

The latter is a unique feature that helps you track and utilize reviews from a vast community of influencers to bolster your brand authority.

As for the types of UGC you can acquire and curate on Bazaarvoice, the sky is the limit. You can obtain photos, videos, reviews, ratings, reviews, Q&As, and much more.

Key Features

  • Generate and curate photo, video, and review-based user-generated content
  • ReviewSource technology
  • Q&As, ratings, and reviews
  • In-store and digital Influencer Activation
  • Detailed UGC analytics

Pricing

Bazaarvoice offers custom subscription options. Create an account and sign up to request your quote.

What I Like / Dislike About Bazaarvoice

I love the fact that you can use Bazaarvoice’s tools to manually obtain and moderate user-generated content, or employ their managed services to completely automate this process. Its highly detailed analytics ensure that you can optimize your UGC before publishing it.

As for the drawbacks, there aren’t any major ones. The only thing I didn’t like as much is that the majority of its features are aimed toward social media publications and content.

Who Is This For?

Bazaarvoice is an excellent choice for all brands and businesses, regardless of their size. Its custom solutions can cater to the needs of the tiniest of merchants and the largest of corporations, and everyone in between.

9. Olapic

Overview

Recently acquired by Social Native, Olapic is now integrated with one of the premier marketplaces for brands and creators. Its already-awesome platform is now enriched by a feature that allows you to seek the most talented UGC professionals in the blink of an eye.

With this platform, you can easily grab premium-quality user-generated content from existing videos, pictures, or graphic reviews; alternatively, you can create UGC from scratch by leveraging Olapic’s suite of tools.

Olapic allows you to create, customize, and moderate user-generated content from ads, emails, social media, or web pages. What separates it from contemporary alternatives is its ability to do this even in offline mode.

Key Features

  • Web, email, and social UGC
  • Offline user-generated content procurement and moderation
  • Customizable UGC galleries
  • Carousel widgets
  • Extensive analytics
  • Partnered with Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Walmart, and SalesForce

Pricing

Olapic pricing plans are unique to each customer. Visit Olapic’s official website to see the demo in action, or fill out the inquiry form to receive your quote.

What I Like / Dislike About Olapic

I like that Olapic truly is a one-stop shop for UGC, regardless of how big or small your brand is. The benefits this platform offers have skyrocketed ever since Social Native acquired it, meaning that now it’s easier than ever to find creators to collaborate with.

On the downside, it’s not as feature-packed as some of the platforms I’ve reviewed so far. If you value simplicity, this is actually a huge plus.

Who Is This For?

Olapic is ideal for emerging businesses and medium-sized companies that want to find collaborators and partners to create quality user-generated content.

10. Trend

Overview

Trend.io is a combination of a creator marketplace and UGC tools. On this platform, you’ll get to pick and choose from thousands of verified and experienced content creators and collaborate with them to procure user-generated product shots, testimonials, PIA videos, portraits, and more.

It’s one of the handfuls of platforms that allows you to create as many projects as you want free of charge; the number of creators you’re working with determines the final price.

With the subscription, you’ll gain access to a vast creator network, inbuilt licensing rights tied to all UGC created on this platform, coverage for unlimited content projects & products, automated product shipment tracking, and a neat on-platform messaging system.

Key Features

  • Creator marketplace
  • Product shots
  • Testimonial and unboxing videos
  • Automated product shipment tracking
  • Trend.io messaging system
  • Product-in-action videos
  • Portrait and lifestyle shots
  • Free project startup
  • Creator application reviews

Pricing

Starting a project in Trend.io is free, you’ll only have to pay $100 per engaged creator.

What I Like / Dislike About Trend

I love how easy the tools on Trend.io’s platforms are to use. Free projects are particularly great for both your brand and the creators you are collaborating with as nothing will stand between your creativity and the results you’re aiming to get.

The only pitfall of Trend.io is that it isn’t as feature-packed. You’ll need an experienced collaborator to properly leverage all the benefits this platform has to offer.

Who Is This For?

If you’d rather work with an experienced creator on managing, creating, and moderating user-generated content without spending a fortune, Trend.io is a good place to start.

11. JoinBrands

Overview

JoinBrands allows you to easily connect with UGC creators who can create either video or image-based content. With over 25,000+ creators in their database, you’ll have a variety of creators to choose from.

With JoinBrands you not only have access to creators who can create content for you but you can also have them post their content to their TikTok profile for an additional fee. This can be great for brands looking to get additional exposure apart from just using the UGC content on their own social media profiles.

Key Features

  • Affordable pricing
  • Creator filters so you can find exactly what you need
  • Video and photo UGC
  • Ability to choose creator tiers
  • Browse creator portfolios

Pricing

JoinBrands pricing does vary based on what you want to achieve. The base price for video content is $60 and $15 for an image. However, if want a longer video with a higher-level creator you’ll need to pay additional fees.

What I Like / Dislike About JoinBrands

I love the fact that JoinBrands is easy to use and that you can easily create brand profiles so you can keep each one of your brand’s UGC content separate. There are tons of creators to choose from and within a couple of hours of your listing going live you’ll probably see dozens of applications coming in.

What I dislike is the fact that you can’t really chat with a creator before actually choosing to work with them. Sometimes you need to verify a few things before choosing someone to work with but it seems that you can’t do that with JoinBrands.

Who Is This For?

JoinBrands is great for e-commerce websites big and small. It’s also perfect if you’re running an agency and want to take advantage of their bulk packages to get more bang for your buck and increase your agency’s margins.

12. Yoke Studios

Overview

Yoke Studios is a new self-serve UGC platform. They boast a network of over 4,000+ UGC creators ranging from nano, micro, and macro. They work on a credit-based system which means you first purchase credits which can then be used towards creating content.

You can choose from a variety of content types, everything from a day in the life, skits, reactions, tutorials, and more. This is one thing that stands out from other UGC platforms. Yoke offers a wide range of content types and video lengths all for differing amounts of tokens.

Key Features

  • Token-based system
  • Ability to create detailed briefs
  • 1 free round of edits
  • Various content types and lengths to choose from
  • 100% usage rights

Pricing

Yoke Studios’s pricing does vary based on what you want to achieve. You can either buy tokens in “singles” for $400/piece or switch to a monthly plan for a discounted rate. Each content type charges a different amount of tokens and you can even upgrade the content length up to 119 seconds for 0.2 tokens.

What I Like / Dislike About Yoke Studios

I like the fact that Yoke Studios’s platform is easy to understand. It’s simple, clean, and does the job. You won’t have as much UGC creator selection as some other platforms however the quality of the creators on this platform does seem to be pretty high.

What I dislike is the fact that you can’t really chat with a creator before actually choosing to work with them. They could also provide more information about each creator so that the selection process is easier when you’re sifting through dozens of choices.

Who Is This For?

Yoke Studios is great for mid-sized e-commerce businesses. Any full video will at least cost 1 token which equates to $400. This might be out of reach for smaller e-commerce businesses however for mid-sized or large e-commerce companies, purchasing a monthly plan could be a good option.

13. Clip

Overview

Clip is a UGC platform that offers a variety of use cases. Everyone from brands, agencies, e-commerce store, and digital services can leverage this platform to produce high-quality UGC videos at a pretty reasonable cost.

You can choose between a testimonial, unboxing, how-to video, or leave it up to the creators to choose how they want to showcase your product/brand.

You can also specify a variety of filters including gender, age, country, regular vs premium creators, and much more.

On the pricing side, Clip is quite affordable. If you want a bare-bones 15-second video you’ll pay $124. You can also choose longer video lengths or opt for add-ons that will increase the cost however, for the most part, this price point is quite competitive.

Key Features

  • Easy-to-use platform
  • Fast turnaround time
  • Purchasing credit packs offers discounts
  • Content licensing is included
  • Ability to vet creators
Screenshot

Pricing

As previously mentioned, Clip’s pricing depends on the video length and add-ons that you choose. You can also choose to purchase a credit pack and save 20%. For example, the starter credit pack costs $1900 however you get $2150 in value.

Screenshot

What I Like / Dislike About Clip

I like the ease of use of the platforms and the video I received from the creator was pretty good.

A couple of things that stuck out to me on the “dislike” side were that there weren’t that many creators that applied to my job which has me wondering if their pool of creators is smaller than most. A second thing that I disliked was that when you send a message to a creator it must first be approved by the Clip team which can slow down communication.

Who Is This For?

Clip is great for small and mid-sized e-commerce businesses as well as agencies looking to offload the work of finding creator talent on their own. The pricing is competitive and you can go back and forth with the creator to re-shoot portions of the video if parts of it don’t meet your expectations.

Wrapping up

The best UGC platform is a compilation of tools that you can use to not only acquire but scale your user-generated content. These days, word of mouth marketing is more important than ever before, and UGC is a key part of that.

You’d be surprised how big of an impact these platforms can make, and it would be a shame to hit a plateau right after hitting a proverbial online gold mine. Fortunately, all platforms in this review offer this, and many other benefits at different prices.
