Most people, myself included, have a tendency to make an opinion about a certain brand, manufacturer, or business by taking a glance at their reviews. I can’t even remember how many times I was peer pressured into buying something I didn’t need simply because so many people liked it before I did.

The power of reviews is real, and I won’t go into the ethical side of things, but I’ll just say that they can make or break brands, especially e-commerce businesses and stores. If you want to stay on top of your competitors, I want to recommend to you some of the best Shopify review apps on the market.

What Are the Best Shopify Review Apps?

There are dozens of Shopify reviews apps to choose from, but what are the best ones? I’ve tried quite a few of them over the years so here is my list of the top Shopify review apps of 2022.

Stamped Reviews is a versatile platform for e-commerce businesses, offering a range of robust features, such as photo reviews, checkout reviews, integrations with social media channels, Q&A tools, and more.

Stamped’s suite of features is aimed toward improving the aesthetics of your Shopify store, showcasing photo and video reviews in the simplest fashion possible, and obtaining powerful analytics from its various integrations with Google (product rating and seller rating being the most prominent ones).

What I Like / Dislike About Stamped

Automated review management is the way to go if you want to grow and scale your Shopify brand. As your firm grows bigger, more and more reviews will flock in, and you don’t want to spend hours after work reading through all of them. I love how simple and effective Stamped’s review automation process is.

I also love the profanity filter, which is essentially a tool that allows you to select the words you never want popping in your reviews. This feature will simply censor chosen words and leave the remainder of the review intact.

Stamped doesn’t have any fatal flaws. Its basic subscriptions are quite cheap, but you’ll have to pay top dollar to get the best features.

Who Is This For?

Stamped is more than just a Shopify review app. The second aspect of this platform revolves around customer loyalty features, such as creating a VIP program, referral programs, and such.

This platform is arguably one of the best Shopify review apps for growing brands that are searching for a single tool that can tackle both reviews and loyalty features; if you’re already outsourcing loyalty apps, Stamped is still an excellent choice.

2. Loox


Loox is a straightforward Shopify review app that brings unlimited review requests to the table. It’s outfitted with features I found relatively simple – easy to use, easy to integrate into pre-existing workflows.

All Loox subscription plans feature automatic review requests; the main difference between subscriptions is that you’ll get a hundred with the Beginner subscription and unlimited requests with the ultimate bundle.

You can request photo and video reviews, customize emails, choose from an array of templates, and even get custom email banners.

In terms of main display widgets, Loox has its proprietary popup, but you can select the template that fits your brand’s aesthetic. With advanced subscriptions, you can publicly reply to reviews.

What I Like / Dislike About Loox

As I mentioned, I love how simple this app is. It allows you to automate the process of requesting reviews; you can go with default display widgets, or customize them thoroughly; more importantly, you aren’t limited to how many requests you can make each month.

I also like the fact that Loox seamlessly integrates with a variety of e-commerce and social media platforms aside from Shopify, such as Facebook, Klaviyo, Aftership, PushOwl, Omnisend, and more.

Similar to Stamped, the best features are in the priciest subscription plan. In the case of Loox, the Unlimited premium subscription costs nearly ten times more than the Growth package.

Who Is This For?

Loox is ideal for small and medium-sized Shopify merchants that want a simple, affordable solution to obtain and publish reviews. It may not have the most groundbreaking features, but saying it gets the job done would be a huge understatement.

3. Vitals All-in-One Marketing – Product Reviews


Vitals is one of the most comprehensive apps for Shopify merchants, offering dozens of programs for users to use via a unified platform. From product reviews, over pre-orders and instant search, over shipping information and gamified pop-ups, over product bundles and description tabs, to an all-in-one chat system, this platform does it all.

For a platform comprised of so many individual apps, Vitals’ Reviews is quite sophisticated and advanced. Users can customize nearly all aspects of its performance from the main dashboard. You can decide whether you want photo or text reviews to be shown first, opt for or out of pushing new reviews to the top of the list, and show star ratings under product names.

Mobile compatibility is one of the most important features of Vitals. Not only is this app usable on most smartphones, but you can fully curate the experience of your customers by customizing how the reviews are shown on mobile phones (how many columns, review order, and so on).

Beyond that, you can automate the process of sending email requests by selecting the email timing and specifying certain rules (if the order is fulfilled, if the customer has transferred the product to the cart, etc.).

I’m sure everyone who uses Vitals is absolutely thrilled by how many apps this platform has. You get all of them for the same price, and you can use them to their full capacity. This is a sharp left turn from the typical setting of certain features being either limited or even exclusive to premium subscriptions.

I loved everything about this platform aside from the fact that I believe not all Shopify merchants will use all Vitals apps for their businesses. Even navigating between 40+ apps can be quite a challenge, but its main drawback is utilizing it in your workflow. There’s quite a bit of ground to cover.

Who Is This For?

Vitals is for all e-commerce brand owners, especially Shopify merchants. It’s an all-in-one platform that will take care of your product reviews, searching, volume discounts, backups, shipping information, pre-ordering needs, and pretty much everything in between.

4. Yotpo


Yotpo’s Reviews is a dedicated e-commerce review app comprised of a variety of sophisticated features. Its highlights encompass email & SMS requests, custom questions, community Q&As, photo and video requests, as well as review prompts.

The prompts play an important role in this e-commerce program, locating the most impactful keywords and prompting the reviewer to essentially grade the products you are selling depending on that criteria.

The ability to create unique questions (as opposed to sticking to defaults or templates) is a game-changer for Shopify merchants that offer highly specialized products. What I Like / Dislike About Yotpo

Yotpo’s among the most versatile Shopify review platforms. It is equipped with all of the traditional e-commerce reviewing features, such as Q&A forms, email review requests, keyword blacklists, and a variety of review templates. It also offers a range of options for customizing requests, managing reviews, and pulling consumer analytics.

I have a bone to pick with Yotpo’s pricing model. The Premium plan promises AI-based features, but the subscription is custom, meaning that you can either get awfully lucky or overpay a feature that may or may not work in your favor.

Who Is This For?

Yotpo’s an excellent option for small and medium-sized companies. The basic subscription is rich with robust features for entrepreneur e-merchants while Prime is pretty much the one-size-fits-all solution. Premium and Enterprise custom plans are better suited for established brands seeking to upgrade their reviewing system.

5. Ali Reviews


Ali Reviews is one of the most affordable Shopify review apps on the list. What separates it from contemporary alternatives is that it offers a completely free version that you can use indefinitely, which covers 60 monthly review requests but imposes a series of limitations, such as only 10 reviews per product, 10 imports, and offers a limited number of templates.

Paid subscriptions are far more advanced, presenting Shopify vendors with a unique review collector tool, on-site widgets, Google Rich Snippets, A/B widget testing, and numerous customizable features.

Some of my favorite Ali Reviews features are the comprehensive library of Ali widgets, personalized displays for each review, and the ability to instantly share any review on your social media profiles.

What makes Ali Reviews one of the best Shopify review apps on the market is the combination of powerful features and affordability. For less than $50 a month, you can gather feedback from your customers, send up to 1,500 review requests, choose from a massive library of widgets, and moderate hundreds of reviews.

I love how versatile the free version is, but I don’t think it’s overly useful to anyone except for small emerging brands.

Who Is This For?

Ali Reviews is absolutely perfect for small Shopify vendors while being an excellent choice for medium-sized brands. The Premium subscription plan is potentially great for large and established e-commerce companies, but it isn’t strikingly different from the Essential pack.

6. Growave


Growave is a versatile platform built exclusively for Shopify merchants, encompassing e-commerce reviewing, loyalty, wishlist, and social media marketing solutions.

The process of acquiring reviews with Growave is automated. You set and brand email reminders, and the app does the rest. Q&A sections, popups, and prompts are important aspects of this platform, but I would argue that its most versatile feature is the review replying suite of tools.

Additionally, you can customize your Shopify pages by creating custom sidebars, changing the color of buttons, and selecting a custom theme for your reviews. This platform will create a separate page where all of your reviews can easily be accessed by your customers.

At the same time, its versatility can be perceived as a drawback by people that are searching for Shopify review apps exclusively. You can’t purchase the reviewing tools separately from the other programs.

Who Is This For?

Growave ensured that its solutions are a perfect fit for everyone. Regardless of how big or small your Shopify store is, I am sure you will find a plan that can cater to your needs and your budget.


Overview is a remarkably cheap Shopify review SaaS that could easily classify as one of the finest reviewing freeware with an optional upgrade.

I wouldn’t have dubbed it “freeware” were it not for the fact that it offers unlimited review requests, a comprehensive review management system, support for over 35 languages, and SEO-based snippets with the free version.

For such an affordable SaaS, it’s in a league of its own when it comes to how powerful and versatile its features are. This may be the only tool on the list that doesn’t have a single flaw. All of its strongest features are forever free to use.

Who Is This For? is ideal for small Shopify brands. Its versatility and robust features are actually more commonly seen in far more expensive subscription-based review apps, so if you plan on subscribing to the premium plan, it can support higher workloads and is suitable for medium-sized brands.

8. AiTrillion


AiTrillion is a massively popular e-commerce automation platform that sports numerous inbuilt tools, including product reviews, popups, product recommendations, loyalty rewards, AI-based live chat, personalization, predictions, and more.

Final Thoughts

You don’t have to pay a single cent to get some of the best Shopify review apps. is a perfect example of that. However, if you want to leverage powerful analytics, fully customizable widgets, and SEO-optimized review content, you may want to consider some of the paid SaaS options I discussed above.
